Susan- owner, master colourist

Grey Blending |

Colour Corrections

With over 30 years of experience, Susan brings unparalleled expertise to hair colour, including all types of blondes, reds, and grey blending. Aveda-trained and skilled with Goldwell, L’Oréal, and Davines products, she also offers Cezanne keratin smoothing treatments and perms. When she’s not perfecting your look, Susan enjoys cycling, running, solo getaways, and spending time with her cat, Harry.

Nori- dual stylist

Cut | Razor | Precision | Colour | Grey Blending

Nori has been cutting and colouring hair since 1999. Aveda and Vidal Sassoon trained, her specialty is easy lived in hair, enhancing hairs natural texture and movement. When Nori is not at the salon she enjoys outdoor adventures with her family.

Catarina- dual stylist

Cut | Colour | Deva Cut | Precision

A curl cutting and color specialist, Catarina is passionate about embracing natural texture. In addition to cutting and colouring, she educates her clients on both products and a styling routine. She also enjoys short textured and precision cuts. Catarina has over 20 years of experience, she has advanced training at Aveda academy and Deva curl Academy, achieving Deva Curl 2 status with a specialization in the art of texture. Catarina loves spending time with her family and friends and exploring new destinations through travel.

Joshua- dual stylist

Cut | Colour | Deva Cut | Cezanne

Josh brings over 16 years of hairstyling expertise to Poppy Hair, having graduated from John Casablancas in 2008.. Josh has honed his craft with specialized training with certification from Deva Curl among many other training courses. His dedication to excellence in hairdressing was recognized with the prestigious Wella Trendvision award in 2012. Outside of the salon, you can find Josh spending time outdoors in nature, or with his two dogs.

Karianne- dual stylist

Cut | Colour | Curly hair | Razor

A highly skilled dual stylist for over 19 years, Karianne specializes in razor cuts, short cuts, and curly hair. She started her education at VCC before expanding to Aveda Advanced Academy. As Poppy Hair Salon’s Bumble and Bumble Network Educator, Karianne has attended Bumble and Bumble University in NYC for styling, razor cutting, and texture/curl cutting. Her education also includes training from Aveda, R&Co and Goldwell.

Karianne’s vast clientele will tell you she is thorough and meticulous with every cut and colour she provides. She is from BC and loves talking about travel, sports, and music and has built life lasting relationships with her clients. She eagerly connects with the clients in her chair and is eager to discuss hair goals and challenges.

Jolena- dual stylist

Cut | Blondes | Balayage

Jolena brings over 7 years of experience to Poppy, a MC College graduate with honours certificate. Specializing in blondes, Jolena loves creating beautiful lived in balayage’s, highlights, as well as reds. She is Red Seal certified, holding Aveda and Bumble & Bumble training. Jolena was born and raised in Vancouver and enjoys camping, hiking, and swimming. She also loves spending time with her three children and two cats.

Carrie- dual stylist

Colour Corrections

After graduating from the Aveda Institute of Vancouver in 2012, Carrie immediately advanced her expertise by attending the Aveda Advanced Academy. Passionate about all things blonde, she also specializes in color corrections and styling services. When she's not transforming hair, Carrie enjoys unwinding at yoga classes or hitting the skating rink.

Anna- dual stylist

Originally from Russia, through Ottawa and now Vancouver, Anna is one of our newest members of Poppy, Extensively trained with Aveda and Vidal Sassoon Academy. Anna is a precision cutter and loves the art of doing hair. When she is not working you can find her swimming, reading and travelling the world.

Susu- dual stylist

Susu has over 25 years experience in the salon business. Her love of hair started in early childhood in Iran, and continued through training in the UK, Susu creates styles to boost confidence and bring joy to her guests. Connecting with her guests is top priority and Susu will aim to fill each visit with warmth and positive energy. Outside of work you will find Susu at the gym, in a great book, enjoying music and dancing.

Tamara- dual stylist

Cut | Razor | Colour | Cezanne

Tamara graduated from the Aveda Institute in 2017 and joined Poppy in 2021. She specializes in razor cuts, blowouts, and vibrant colors, Tamara thrives when her day includes all three. Outside of work, she enjoys biking around the city, curating her monthly radio show as a DJ, and watching anime.

Adam- dual stylist

Cut | Highlights | Barbering | Short Hair | Reds

Trained through Aveda Advanced education, Adam has been with Poppy for over 10 years, Adam specialises in mid and short length haircuts, including barbering, highlights, reds and Classic silhouettes. Adam is an animal lover and has the most contagious laugh.

Nojin- junior stylist

Cut | Long hair | Updo | Styling

A graduate of Blanche Macdonald, Nojin joined our team in 2021. She specializes in long haircuts, updos, and styling for everyday and special events. She brings a vibrant personality and positivity to our workplace, ensuring everyone in her seat is comfortable. Originally from Kurdistan and Syria, Nojin is fluent in English, Kurdish, and Arabic. Outside of work, she enjoys dancing and spending quality time with her husband and nephew.

Daniella- junior stylist

Cut | Barbering | Treatments

Daniella is one of our Junior Stylists, a Blanche Macdonald graduate with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to perfecting their craft. Her specialty is short cuts with fades, holding advanced training in Barbering Techniques from El Grande and Kerpsalon. Outside the salon, Daniella is a fashion enthusiast and artist with a love for geometric and creative designs. She also enjoys a variety of sports, including baseball, football, and soccer, with a goal to design and establish their own unique signature. Daniella is excited to bring her creative vision and diverse talents to your hair experience.

Maddie- new talent

Cut | Styling

Maddy graduated from Blanche Macdonald and has been with Poppy Salon since November of 2023. She is a master at blowouts and is working to specialize in colour and cuts. Outside of hair, Maddy has been playing lacrosse for over 13 years, winning multiple awards and started the first woman’s lacrosse program in Vancouver for the first time in 80 years.

Trish- Salon Owner

Trish has been in the salon industry for over 25 years.
